Chrome VS Microsoft Edge

If you use Bing as your search engine, you might be surprised to learn what the most searched term on it is. According to Google, the top entry on Microsoft’s Bing search engine is for its rival Google ! That’s right, more people use Bing to find Google than anything else.
Why is that? Well, Google claims that it’s because people use Google by choice, not by force. Google made this argument in court, as it tried to appeal against a $5 billion fine from the European Union for abusing its market power. The EU accused Google of using Android’s success in the smartphone market to make Google the default search engine on most devices .
Google says that its market share in general search is consistent with consumer surveys showing that 95% of users prefer Google to rival search engines. Google also says that Android has created more choice for everyone, not less, and that users can easily switch to other search apps if they want to.
But is that really the case? Some might argue that Google has an unfair advantage over other search engines, because it has access to more data, more resources, and more influence. Some might also say that Google’s dominance in search affects other areas of online activity, such as advertising, e-commerce, and content creation.
Bing, on the other hand, is the second most popular search engine on the web today (after Google of course), but it still lags behind significantly in terms of market share and user satisfaction. Bing has tried to differentiate itself from Google by offering features such as image and video search, news and maps, rewards and coupons, and integration with Microsoft products such as Windows and Office.
But it seems that these features are not enough to attract or retain users who are used to Google’s speed, accuracy, and relevance. Bing might need to do more to convince users that it can offer a better or different search experience than Google. Otherwise, it might remain as the search engine that people use to find another search engine.
Are you thinking of switching from Chrome to Microsoft Edge? If so, you are not alone. According to StatCounter, Edge has surpassed Firefox as the second most popular browser in the world, with a market share of 8.03% as of March 2023. Chrome still dominates the browser…
